Living Wall Selection Help

Hi all,
We've got a very sunny fence we're hoping to cover with living wall pots, the sort of self irrigating type that stack on top of each other. We originally hoped to pop ferns there but the site is simply to warm and sunny for them. We're keen to make sure the plants cover the pots (about 6-8 inches or so) so they've got to trail or be a little bushy, and they've got to tolerate a west facing fence.
Any inspiration?

Do they need to be evergreen?
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Is it your fence? If not the owner might object like my neighbour did in my present and last house who claim it is theirs and objected to me putting anything on it.The fence in our present garden was actually ours according to the deeds but as it needed replaced my neighbour paid for it so no complaints from me.
  • Interesting question about the fence, I actually have no idea, I'll have to check the deeds! Evergreen would be fab but we're quite flexible, we'd love stuff that attracts pollinators and are thinking herbs like trailing thyme...
