does anyone know what this tree is and if is supposed to be like this?

    Whatever the type of tree it shouldn't look like that.
    Can you tell us roughly where you are and post a pic of the whole tree please.
    It's not really possible to identify the tree from the pic above.

    Thanks - I'm not sure what the tree/shrub is but I'm sure someone here will.
    The leaf problem appears to be some kind of leaf curl, often associated with Peach trees. But I never had a peach tree, so don't know if that is what you have.
