Elaeagnus berries

For the first time ever, I've noticed some berries on the Elaeagnus bush. It was given a hard prune and is now coming back strongly. Is there anything I can do with the berries? I've been trying to propagate it from cuttings for the past 3 years but have been unsuccessful- can the berries be used in this way?

    worth a try, if it's a species rather than a hybrid it should be OK
