New Pot Bound Apple Tree

I have just planted a pot bound apple tree with apples forming. I want to keep them and not drop off due to it being pot bound with a constrained root system. What feed can I give it so it can support the growth of the apples to maturity? Thanks.

I would simply ensure that it is well watered through the summer. However it is likely that the tree will lose a percentage of the fruitlets due to the ‘June Drop’. This is normal for all fruit trees and ensures that tree only holds onto the number of fruit that won’t exhaust it.

I would not encourage a young newly planted tree to produce much of a crop too soon. It needs to focus on establishing a good root system to support the tree in the future.
