Shaping a conifer tree/shrub
Hi all
I have this inherited conifer that I wanted to trim back and shape. It looks like the leaves go back quite deep into it but I know conifers can be funny and are often dead further back so you can’t cut them back too much. Am I going to be ok taking maybe 12” of this all around? My plan is to shape it into a squarish block next to the berberis which I’ll keep round.

I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
