Dear all I have a very mature and big cherry tree.  It has finished with blossoming and think I read somewhere it is ok to prune now. Please can someone advise me?
thank you

Not advisable until July because of the danger of silver leaf disease, a wind borne fungus. The danger is less at midsummer I believe.

Do you not want the cherries to ripen or have I not understood!?  My cherries are still green and as @Lizzie27 says, the accepted wisdom is not to prune until later in the summer but before the autumn begins.

Thank you both for your replies. It doesn’t have cherries just lots of blossom in Spring

Yes, safest to prune in mid summer.  (Hi, Beaus Mum!  Hope all is well with you.   :) )
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
