Plant ID - Mystery Perennial

Does anyone recognise this plant please?  It's a division from a plant which a friend bought at Sissinghurst some time ago but can't remember the name or whether it flowers!  Thank you.

Well it looks like a seedling of Eryngium giganteum. (Miss wilmotts ghost). Its a biennial, flowers in the second year then dies, scattering seeds forever more. Mine is spreading into the lawn, although mowing finishes it. The flowering stalk looks nothing like the first year leaves.

Thank you very much @fidgetbones, that sounds like one to avoid!

A gorgeous thing … if you have the space for it. 💚

Wonderful plant. Mine don't spread too much seed, so don't really cause a problem.
Those leaves would also fit for some of the other Eryngiums.

Bumble bees love it, flowering in August,  its easy to remove if you have too many.

Thank you for your replies @Dovefromabove, @punkdoc and @fidgetbones, I’m warming to it now and am going to find a good place for it!
