Has anyone ever tried this? Sounds a bit optimistic to me!

Never tried it, but if the grow bag is cut in half and the two halves upended, a bush variety would probably be fine planted in the two halves with plenty of water and feeding.

I did once - but 2 on top of each other and big holes between (faff). Did work though. I do mine in massive pots now - prob equivalent to one grow bag per pot, per plant.

Mine didn’t like being potted-on this year. I’m
putting that mistake down to potting on in a pot a big too big. The roots like to find the pot edge very quickly and make a good tight structure before planting out into their final space. They explained it really well on Beech Grove this week, so I immediately twigged. I’m going to give mine a chance to grow during this warm spell, and if they don’t come on soon they will be abandoned.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

There are different sized grow bags available… Westland do a 55 litre and a 27 litre.
I’d try the larger one for courgettes … but I’d only do one plant per bag, so that makes it expensive. Mine are planted in the ground.

I used one last year - I split it in half and upended each half with a courgette in . I had more courgettes than I could eat at first, but it slowed off quite quickly and was mildewed. But it wasnt a bad result if that is what you have to work with.
