Could I grow sweet peas up this?

fizzylizfizzyliz Posts: 398
Up against a wall? In a pot? Want something to cover up part of a wall, something fragrant 😊
not a clematis as don’t seem to have much luck plus better in ground - this would need to be in a pot. Already have some star Jasmine.
I did buy some sweet peas already.
Thanks!

I would think so, although they will need tying in.
How can you lie there and think of England

You could try thunbergia (black eyed susan) the rusty red one is my favourite
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Very nice @fizzyliz - but quite expensive! Should last you a good many years though.
You can use it/them with pots, but it would be quite difficult to get the plants heading up onto them unless the containers were wide enough to slide the supports in, so probably better against a wall, and plants in the ground, although if you attached the screens to the wall, you could then do either.
Perhaps you can have sweet peas on them this year, and then decide if you want them in a more permanent position, and with permanent climbers  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
