Evergreen trailing plant

Chichi_7Chichi_7 Posts: 28
Hi all,

I’m looking for some recommendations for evergreen trailing plants, I want them to trail over the sides of raised planters but don’t want them to choke other plants or form a carpet in the planter itself. Happy to prune regularly or train over the side if needed.

How big are your planters, and how much space do you have in them for the plants?
Aubretia or ivy would climb over the side and dangle prettily. 😊

I use small leaved ivies, readily available in garden centres and usually found in their plants for containers section. There are several green and variegated varieties, they have a natural trailing habit and are easy to control, without becoming invasive.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

Depends where you are in the UK. Muehlenbeckia, best as a houseplant in the winter months but may cope outside in the south.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
