Privet

Good morning

my privet hedge is not doing so well. It’s long established and recovered well from all the cold weather over winter.

However I have lost three plants so far and this one also seems to be going that way

I have attached some pictures - is it honey fungus ?

any advice appreciated I have read many articles re  the fungus and I am contemplating jeyes fluid after excavation but am concerned regards the other privet

help !

Some of our Privet have been affected by Honey Fungus but someone cleverer that I will help you I'm sure.
I don't know where you are but we are in the South West which is a comparatively mild area of UK and ours are really only starting to green up now.

Dig around ans see if you find the characteristic boot-laces.  Rarely more than 6in down.
    Cultivation is the best cure/preventative.

My soil is riddled with honey fungus, but my beech and yew hwdges are unaffected.  Why not try a change.  (My advice may be biased, I hate privet.)
