Hawthorn - what a difference a year makes.

Around this time last year I asked the forum for advice about one of my Hawthorn trees which failed to flower
I was advised that it could possibly have been due to a lack of water.
Thankfully, this year all my Hawthorn trees have had a mass of flowers but could anyone offer advice as to when I should intervene should we have a dry period (which may be anytime from now I suppose) to help ensure flowers come again next year.
They are such a joy. Thank you.

@KY53 - we were so thrilled to see flowers on the one that had none last year. I was concerned it may have been on the way out but it appears healthy overall.
I didn't know if there was a particular time when water supply is especially important for production of next year's flowers. The mysteries of nature eh!
Enjoy your flowers whilst they are here.

Occasionally, some plants wear themselves out if they flower heavily one year. It's usually temporary.
All the hawthorn is  flowering here too, after greening up much earlier than usual [mid April]  whether hedging or individual trees. The warm start to the year has pushed it all forward.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

As @Fairygirl says,  they don’t always flower every year, but this year they’re very good.

They all look great, when my Honeysuckles give up the ghost Hawthorn will be replacing them.

To be honest I wish I had gone for Hawthorn in the first place.

    Thank you all.
@sheps - they are great, aren't they? I find them magical.

The hawthornes around us are in full full flower. Amazing sight but they don't smell nice to us!
