what do you think dug these holes

hello i have found some dark holes in the soil , what do you think caused it. Im thinking  maybe cats or foxes ?

If i water the area using cold peppermint tea will that cause any issues as i have read that pepper mint scent can deter cats and foxes .

Its supposed to be growing blueberries , will they still be edible if an animal is using the area as a toilet ? :'(

    Looks like a pussycat has been padding across the soil, @hi2u_uk.  I'm guessing a fox, being bigger, would sink deeper.
    When there's always biscuits in the tin, where's the fun in biscuits ?

    Rabbits?  We've got one that frequents the garden and makes holes.

    Squirrels make holes in our garden. Sometimes I find horse chestnuts buried in them!
