Pieris leaf trouble

Hello,

My pieris (mountain fire I think) of 5 years has developed this mottle all over. The plant is 1,5m tall, sparsely leaved, but still produces new growth every year. Up until this morning, it was in a fully shaded corner due to an adjacent ceanothus having almost completely engulfed it. It is now in a sunny spot, but the leaves are unsightly and I fear for the worst. Any ideas what I’m dealing with?

It may be short of nutrients if it was being swamped. Sun isn't great for them unless it's only a few hours - a semi shaded spot is best for them.  :)
They sometimes get a bit of lacebug damage if they don't have good airflow, the same as many plants. It also looks like that.
I can't be sure as I've never had problems with them.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks for the tip. I did read about lace bugs but I wasn’t sure as it covers every single leaf! And I don’t see any adults running about so didn’t know what to think.
