Should I ungraft this Cherry?

This was a potted ornamental tree that was left here and struggling when we bought our house so we decided to plant it and see if it would be happier. It’s been almost 2 years in the ground now and has grown much taller. The downward branches are the bits that were weighted or grafted. I’d like it to grow taller so I’m wondering if I should cut those bits off to let the rest of its energy go into growing upwards rather than down. Any tips?

The stems coming from below the graft will be from a different rootstock, a common wild cherry. The leaves are larger and the flowers will be poorer. Yes it will grow taller, and very quickly become a very large tree, but probably not what you would choose for your garden.
The grafted part is still struggling, because the rootstock is taking all the energy and nutrients. If you choose to save it you will need to remove the invading stems and clear a space around its roots so it has less competition from the grass too.
