Small greenhouse for windy area

I'd like a mini greenhouse on the patio, but it gets very windy. Last time I tried a cheap one with a pvc cover, but the cover ended up ripping. As far as I can tell the next step up is a £500 one with aluminium frame and glass. Has anyone found a cheap/midrange solution to greenhouses in such conditions?

I can't help thinking a DIY project will be the best option.  That way you can weight the base down and work out your own design.  'Bought' probably means 'flimsy'.

I use this one - have had for around 8 years or so. It's getting a bit worn now and I'm thinking of replacing it later this year or next year. Far sturdier than the plastic ones. I mainly use it for my tomatoes, or for growing on small plants or cuttings during autumn/winter

It was a little bit cheaper then!

I never weight them down, but I fix them to the wall using vine eyes and some washing line which I already had. That's a far better system. There's no base for weighing that one down, but if it's very windy, it doesn't work anyway - it just causes more problems if the while thing gets cowped and you have brick or similar bashing around in them.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Oh sorry - it's such a common term here that I forget not everyone uses it!  :D

Don't apologise, I love learning all these foreign words from faraway places!!! I've seen a lot of scotland on bicycle ... lovely place.

    Aye - it's no too bad  ;)
I'd struggle to live anywhere else, especially if it was hotter and drier.  :)
