Mystery Seedlings?

Robert WestRobert West Posts: 241
Hello all,

I sowed what I thought were Mina Lobata seeds a month ago. At least that's what the packet of seed I bought online said (though most of it was in Russian). Thing is I just looked up Mina Lobata seedlings and they don't seem to look anything like mine!? Does anybody know if these are in fact Mina Lobata plants? And if not, what might they be?

Thanks in advance

They are not Mina lobata, but I don’t know what they are.

Thank you for the confirmation. Very annoyed as I had plans for them. Lord only knows what I'm growing! I think one of them is developing a flower bud so that might help ID them.

You say the writing was Russian, Where did you buy the seeds?  If it was from Amazon there’s no telling what they could be.
I thought they’d stopped the import/export of seeds and plants.

It was eBay. The seeds have a Ukrainian flag on them. I couldn't find them in any of the local garden centres so thought I'd risk eBay. Won't make that mistake again.

If you are looking for a good range of seeds, try Chilterns, on line. They have Mina lobata.

    UPDATE!

First flower has opened up on my mystery seedlings. Does this help anyone with identification?

  • We have a number of those in the garden. They are doing well. So colourful and bright.

Thank you both! Glad they're nothing nasty!
