There is a Cox, a Gala, a Lord Lambourne  and a Discovery.  They are about 8 years old.  (Aldi specials)

Lovely, they're the perfect size I'm hoping for as well. Are those M27s? I hope mine do as well as yours appear to be!

These planted about 7-8 weeks ago. Three of Apples, Apricot, Peach and Pear.  Trying to grow fruit trees first time bought these six for less than £40 bare roots. Looks OK. Here are the picture

No idea what the rootstock was. They were dead cheap at Aldi and I needed some pollinators for the big James Grieve I have. Its pollinaors were old trees in the orchard next door(pre war) and a big storm felled them.  My tree was flowering but not setting fruit so I got a random selection.   They are easy to pick  and prune. We have just finished the last of the frozen fruit in the big chest freezer in the garage.

I have dwarf apples and they grew really slowly for the first five years. I realise now they needed buckets of water every week through the spring and summer. When I figured out the copious watering, the trees shot away immediately - gaining more in one season than they had in years, and fruiting well. Even years in, I water through the summer.
