Roddi getting eaten

Can anyone tell me what's been eating my roddi and what I can do about it

    Vine weevil.
    You can get nematodes, but you need to have the right temps/conditions for them to be successful. The grubs do more harm than the adults, as they're underground and eat through roots. That damage is often only noticed when plants keel over because they have no root system left. 

    Improving the general health of the shrub will help. That's a lot of damage, so it suggests your rhodo is already struggling a fair bit.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • I've never actually seen anything on the leaves,do these vine weevils eat at night or should I see them anytime

    They're mostly visible at night, but you can also see them during the day.
    If you have other planting too, there's likely to be damage on that, depending on what it is. Heucheras are particularly susceptible. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • I did notice some holes in the rose bush next to it but not as bad...where do the go during daylight hours... obviously not too far away
