Concerned by brown areas on acer tree leaves that turn into holes
We have moved into a house with a tree in the corner of our garden - I assume an acer - that is beautiful peach coloured leaves in spring, turning yellow currently, and then they turn green.
Concerningly though noticeable dry/brown areas are appearing on the leaves. This happened last year but I thought it was just an end of season thing, but now they're appearing on the this year's recently appeared leaves. On some it's just some crispy edges, at worse though it turns into big holes in the leaves. I don't know if this is 'wind scorch' that I read about with acers (it gets windy there sometimes), insects (I did see some aphids clustered at the top of a few of the branches, but none on the leaves), fungal, not enough water,... or something else. The tree is also kind of south facing so gets a fair bit of sun.
Any ideas on what I can do it stop it getting worse? Thank you!

One of mine gets similar at some stage each year - it's just one of those things that acers can be prone to.
