Nandina as others have said. Cut one third of the stems back to about six inches each year in spring to encourage new growth lower down. Otherwise they get very leggy very quickly. The new growth soon takes off in my experience.

Is it too late to prune it this year?

A bit late. Go for it next year before the new growth develops, otherwise you'll prune away all its reserves. Personally I like them leggy as I think they're elegant. Yours is wonderfully full of flowers!
