Back spot on roses

Hi everyone
I am struggling with black spot on my roses. Every year my roses return looking lovely and green... but by april/may they always develop black spot infestation! No matter what I do..
I've tried using roses clear spray, cutting back ... only watering at the base to avoid the water spreading the fungal spores... but it just keeps ruining my plants and lots of their leaves fall off... or they just look black and yellow...
Do I need to treat the soil? My neighbours do not seem to suffer with this problem! Does anyone know a really effective way to solve this problem??
Many thanks everyone!

Politely ask your neighbours.  I guarantee they will love to be flattered and involved.  Much better than us virtual "friends" at a distance.

    Solution 1.  Don't grow roses.

Solution 2.  Grow black spot resistant varieties.  I grow albas and gallicas.  No probs.

Thank you! I will consider replacing with the varieties that you have suggested!

I think it is a particularly bad year  for black spot. It is in my garden anyway.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
