Baby spinach indoors very successful away from slugs. (Photos)

I have never grown this outdoors. This is my second year of growing it and I am very pleased with the result.  Especially this year as I gave each seeding plenty of space between each one. It is like 'the plant that keeps on giving'.

After germinating  I transplant each seedling to a normal seed tray with holes, and this sits in another seed tray that does not have any holes (I think the latter are called 'gravel trays').  I use the these gravel trays like you would use a plant saucer. At watering time I just lift one end up and pour water in to the gravel tray-preferably rain water. The roots of the spinach can easily access the water. I find seed trays are adequate in depth.

The area is an old wooden framed conservatory that does not get too hot as it is basically west facing.

I find 3 trays on the go is enough for me. Varying the plant that I harvest the leaves from each time.
