    @bede I did see it in the Vale of Belvoir maybe that has limestone. The area would be wet for most of the year. 
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Vale of Belvoir: mudstones, marlstones, some limestone.  All Calcareous.
     location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.
