Sunflower seed growing help please

Hi. I work with children and adults who have Down’s syndrome. I would like to offer sunflower seed growing as an activity. However I may not be able to arrange until the end of May.  Please could you let me know if you think growing from seed then will be successful. To engage my group with the garden if I say we are growing sunflowers I need to get sunflowers!!  Many thanks.

    Should be ok if you grow the smaller ones, don't go for the giant ones, take longer to grow.
