Thanks @KeenOnGreen, yours looks fantastic too!

It's nice to see the plant your considering being used in a similar fashion to how you want to use it! This looks great, I love the pots they are in! How tall would you say this is? Just over a meter from the ground?
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Your E. Green Spires look great @KeenOnGreen.  I think I bought mine a while ago after I'd seen an earlier photo of yours!  They are quite slow growing @Nollie but can easily be kept to the size you want.  Your E. Paloma Blanca will help to add light to your shady corner, but I know what @Fairygirl means if they are not looked after properly or the climate doesn't suit them!

My E. Green Spire is in a developmental stage at the moment.  I've left it unpruned to see how it develops, I think a dome or a cube might be the route. Hope this helps with your decision @Latimer!

That made me chortle @Fairygirl 😆 There was scant shrub choice in the GC and it sort of looked OK, but then it got new white growth at the top and I thought, hmm.. At least it’s in an out of the way corner!

I don’t actually like variegated plants that much, but I also found myself buying a few of these as edging shrubs through lack of anything else. I think they’re OK though, quite subtle, very small leaves. They were shaped into small globes, but probably more suitable material for your squared off hedge idea, Latimer.

@Nollie I’m afraid I’m with you when it comes to variegated plants, not really my cup of tea. Having said that, I’ve got a few in the garden!

@Latimer Together with the pots, they are about 1 metre tall. They were slow to start with, but once established, I find they put on a lot of growth each year width wise. We have pruned them a couple of times a year, otherwise they would be much bigger, but probably not a lot taller.  I took some softwood cuttings of them 2-3 years ago, which was very easy, and they are not turning into quite chunky little plants.

We just bought a variegated version of this columnar form of Euonymis. It looks very similar to the one that Nollie mentions above, but is called White Spire, and it's leaves have more white than the one shown in Nollie's photo. I will also take cuttings of that.

Thanks @KeenOnGreen I’d say that decision made! I’m even tempted to do them in pots but would rather have something in the ground
