Rhubarb

Can anyone tell me if this is normal for rhubarb it seems to be growing up and not many sticks of rhubarb on.

    This would be normal growth in a young plant. It looks rather hungry. Rhubarb is not ideal for growing in such a small pot, it prefers to grow in open soil and be very well fed with manure etc. It should not be pulled for a couple of years after planting, until it is well established and for the first two or three years only a couple of stems pulled. This gives the root time to build up. If you try forcing it you should use 3 plants in rotation, forcing the first plant and resting the other two, then repeat with plant two. This gives each clump a two year rest as forcing drains the energy of the clump. Looking at your rhubarb it will be another 2 or 3 years before it will be ready to pull
