Great idea, @Slow-worm , but I can't see my neighbours going for it .... they just want to go to the shop to buy a bag of compost that works, doesn't cost a prince's ransom , and doesn't look like a wheelie-bin full of glass bottles fell into a threshing machine.
Come to think of it, that's what I want too.
When there's always biscuits in the tin, where's the fun in biscuits ?
@Jenny_Aster I too saw the Polo mint programme but also couldn't figure out clearly what happened to the fibre. It went thru so many processes and with the dreaded Greg whittering on at every opportunity, it was difficult to tell. I've watched many of the In The Factory programmes and find them quite fascinating - just wish they'd swap G for someone better tho
Couldn't agree more, don't know why nearly everything on the TV has to be aimed at 10 year olds.
If you've ever seen Morgana Robinson's impersonation of Mr Wallace, you'll struggle to ever look at him again without cringing, but also laughing out loud
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

My initial reaction to @bédé's scornful comment (about diversification of British Sugar) was annoyance. "Let them get on with it their way" isn't exactly a helpful contribution to the conversation... but then I decided it would be good to find out exactly what British Sugar is doing with its waste products. Ok, they don't make bagged compost for gardeners, but I found their list of "co-products" quite impressive. Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Bit of a paradox, sugar is 100% carbs, eliminating carbs to almost zero from the diet of epilepsy sufferers appears to help, British Sugar helps produce CBD oil from cannabis plants to help epilepsy suffers.... guess this is life as we know it. It just amuses and reminds me of the 'chicken and egg' scenario - what came first? Epilepsy or CBD oil? Sorry I've strayed off topic
Here's a great film and can recommend, purposely free on Youtube, staring Meryl Streep. Written by a film producer about his son's and family's experience when his son was diagnosed with epilepsy. Called 'First Do No Harm' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY9ZMGK5Hbs
I've been turned from being relatively pro coir to anti after reading this article.
Was thinking lack of germination, slow growing, dying off was due to me planting too early, lacking patience, wet conditions and even possibly slugs. It could all be down to using coir.
