My friend's potted fruit tree problems

A friend of mine bought 3 fruit trees about 10 years ago from an ad in a newspaper. You know the ones - seem reasonably priced until you realise you have to buy big pots and a load of soil.
She has provided me with some photos which appear to have ants on the leaves and she says the leaves furl up and drop.
The fruit has also been affected. The apple and cherry more so than the plum.
Are the ants the issue or something else?
Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

@pansyface - I've seen her stick two fingers up at me in the past but they might be different ones 🤣.
Many thanks. I will pass this on to her.

Agree with @pansyface the ants are just enjoying their own little aphid farm.
Your friend should still have a couple of fingers spare to send you a "message" tho.  Sorry, it made me laugh - couldn't resist  :D

@philippasmith2 - I sent her a screenshot of the answer from @pansyface and she replied "Gross, thanks" 😆.
I did warn her you don't always get the answers you might like on her but usually the truth.
Thanks for your confirmation of problem. Appreciated.
