Tools for weeding

Hello

Need to tackle an out of control rental property lawn and also wanting to invest in some decent tools.

What weeding tools would you not be without?

Thank you!

Unless you want an immaculate lawn, simply mowing regularly will soon sort out a weedy lawn. If you prefer to get rid of all the weeds permanently, roots and all, it depends what sort of weeds you have, what will work best

I don’t bother with a lots of different tools, I have one trusty trowel which I think is called a bulb or sometimes transplanter trowel. It’s quite long and has a proper point so gets used for everything.

You can get a trowel/tool designed for getting out long tap roots such as on dandelions.

I also use a wallpaper/ paint scraper as a small hoe to get between plants or tidy grass edges - my favourite tool

My soil is too heavy to use a trowel for anything other than a few specific jobs.

I use a small handfork all the time for hand weeding and a small border fork for tackling bigger jobs.
