Too late to sow sweet pea?

I was wondering if it is too late to sow sweet pea? Would I still get flowers if I did it now? I did sow some earlier in the year but have now found some more seeds and would quite like to do some more.

thanks!

Nothing to lose.  I planted some seedlings out today and sowed a few more seeds to grow under cover just now.

No - not too late. It will depend on your climate and location as to how well they'll do, and how long they'll carry on flowering. I often have them still going in mid to late October. Hotter areas are more difficult as they get spent very quickly.
I often sow some in mid to end of April, as that's the ideal time for sowing direct into large containers if more are needed. I've just sown some in the last week too.  :)

  • @Wild_Violet @Fairygirl thank you both! I will sow some more tomorrow and hopefully they’ll put on a good show 😁

Never too late to sow any seeds I think but then the plants may not do as well as earlier sowing but still worth a go. I have many flower seeds that I haven't been able to sow outdoors for many reasons and will just give it a go and see what comes up.
  • @bertrand-mabel yes always worth a go!

If you're in a hotter, drier part of the country, keep them in a shadier spot. They won't dry out so quickly. Even here, I grow a lot of mine in shadier sites. They're fine.
Plenty of food and water is the secret, especially if potted.  :)
