    I think that looks fine, I'd leave it like that. No room for grasses, I'm not a fan of grasses anyway. The astilbe and hosta should be happy, they like damp soil and shade.

    Thank you, I'll leave it be then. How long will it take the hydrangea to grow into that space? Will it be many years before it starts to fit? I left the most space around that one because they can become large. Unsure if I've spaced everything else correctly...
