Is there hope for this palm?

As have many other of my plants, this palm succumbed to the winter. However I have hope it will come back as there still seems to be some green at the bottom of the leaves. Any thoughts? Should I percervere?

Probably everyone on the forum has lost some cherished plant during last Winter.Regarding your palm , check if the central growing point (or apical bud) is damaged or rotten .
You'll soon find out as the remaining leaves will just pull out ; in that case I'm afraid that there is no chance of recovery .
If palms are your 'thing' ; consider a Trachycarpus if you need to replace . The hardiest palm for cultivation in the UK , though not suitable for pot-culture .

Our Trachycarpus fortuneii was bought as a small plant towards one Christmas. It was taken indoors and became our tree for the celebrations. We then planted it out in the Spring and it was wonderful. A huge plant and now coming into flower again. It is over 20 feet with a magnificent trunk. Can't grow one in a pot but can be started for a while.

Apparently one of the leading names in palm cultivation (Martin Gibbons) states that Trachycarpus fortunei can withstand -15C for short periods . That's worth knowing about .
