Malvern Spring Garden Show
We went today (Friday) and sadly were quite disappointed with the event. We weren't surprised that there were fewer nurseries etc showing, as the cost of production this year was probably prohibitive. Even other, non-plant, exhibitors were way down on previous years. There was much more to see last year, despite 2 years of Covid. Ticket price of £34 on the gate has probably put us off from going again. When we left the numbers were much lower than we have seen in previous years, but the odd thing was the traffic jams of cars trying to get to the showground. It's roughly 1 1/4 miles from the showground to the main road and traffic was solid all along that road. When we got to the crossroads at the main road we couldn't get onto it because of impatient idiots who were trying to force their way across and had completely blocked it. The queue on the main road stretched to a total of 2 1/2 miles. As there were so few people in the showground when we left we can only assume that people had made a last minute decision to go because the sun had come out.
On a positive note, the people doing the marshalling in the car park were doing a great job. There were some extremely muddy areas and they were directing cars away from those parts. I suspect some of the queues may also be down to the greatly reduced usable parking areas. Marshals were allowing more space between vehicles and between rows.
