Something that stops algae growth on fences?

Hello. We have black painted fences which go green every winter and require repainting in spring. Can anyone recommend a product which stops algae growth on fences?

Wet & Forget or Patio Magic should do it and should keep it clean for most of the season.

My fences are black, and get that every year, but I don't mind it - the plants cover most of it, and I quite enjoy a bit of re painting in spring/summer   ;)

Haven't heard of that first product though @Pete.8. Might look into it. I didn't realise the other one would work with timber either. I've never used any of these things though  :)

I've used both on my drive and other areas - I buy whichever is cheapest at the time.
I didn't realise they would treat wood, but seems like they do.
Certainly works well on the drive and other paving.

Had a look @Pete.8 - and it does say suitable for fences and decking.

Hope it works for you @Sazz101  :)

I use one called Algon. Use it on my fences and plastic shed.

Thanks @TheGreenMan. How long did it work for? Was hoping for something that lasted for years.

Oh definitely not years. A good four/five months.

It used to be creosote.  Now any creosote substitute.  I use it annually, but might last longer.
