Mystery Plant

Hello!
I am hoping someone knows what this plant is that has come up in the last few weeks? There was a fuschia there a few years ago.....could it be that growing from roots left in the ground?
Thanks!

I would have assumed that was willowherb and yanked it out, but I could be wrong!

Is it all one plant growing from a woody base/roots? I think it would be if it was an old fuchsia regenerating itself. try grasping one stem right down at soil level and giving it a pull - if it comes out as an individual plant with it's own roots, then it's most likely willowherb seedlings.

Looks a lot like Willowherb to me …

Sorry about the superfluous apostrophe. Just noticed it and it's too late to edit :(

I'd suspect willowherb too, but check as per @JennyJ's suggestion.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank You, this is really helpful 😊 I will go out first thing and check the roots. Thanks again all!

I’d put £50 on that being willowherb.

Plant app also thinks it is. ⚠️
