Asparagus again

My ongoing Asparagus questions, 2 years ago I planted quite a few crowns, they grew up like ferns, I asked what I should do and one of you said to trim them down, so I did, I also planted another 8 or 9 crowns. OK now this year nothing seemed to be happening, my friend came around and we scanned the area, and all we found were the brown stubs of the ones trimmed back, I said right that's it, I can't seem to grow it, a week later I couldn't believe my eyes, the 2 year old stuff came up like strong eatable shoots (I didn't know if I should harvest them? the one-year-old ones came up like ferns. Should I now harvest the 2 year old ones, they are getting tall ?????

    Hello,P,long time no see! Yes, I would harvest from the 2 year old crowns. As for the fronds,I know the "experts" say chop them down when they go yellow, mine never do,so they get chopped after a couple of months. I hope you like asparagus, when they take off,you will be selling it!! Ours are growing a foot a day,and I still have some frozen from last year.
