Plant ID wanted

Although I (try to) keep a good record of our plant purchases, this one has us baffled. When I first saw the flower yesterday it appeared to be a sort of Poppy, but we cannot put a name to it. The first photo shows a slightly bedraggled bloom after surviving a few hours of rain and hail.

Anemone de Caen? If so you might have planted it as a dry tuber in the autumn. I've never had any success with those.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Hi Jennyl:  The flower certainly resembles it, but the  Anenome foliage looks more 'feathery' by comparison.

The leaves on de Caen look more like buttercup leaves than the feathery ones of A. blanda.
