Large shoot on ornamental cherry

Hi. I have a large shoot on my ornamental cherry. It is completely out of proportion to the rest of the tree. Should I remove it? I have attempted to include a photo.

    see where it's coming from, probably from below the graft and is the rootstock. It will be much stronger than the grafted part and needs removing before it swamps it

    Thankyou nutcutlet. I didn't know they were grafted but I've now removed it 😊
