Discolored leaves on most plants in my area

Hi I’m a bit concerned about all my rose bushes, they all have some discoloration powdery mildew which I’m trying to treat but I’m mostly concerned with the dark vines and greenish yellow leaves. I have ordered some sequestered iron just in case that’s the issue here. The strange thing is that I’ve noticed that most of my neighbors plants look the same as mine. I’m wondering wether this has something to do with the rain water and wether there’s anything I can do about this. I have a ph meter but get different readings all over the place so not sure if I’m using it correctly. Any help with this would be appreciated as this is something I noticed since last summer but was hoping it would just go away.

Pale leaves with darker green veining is usually due to nitrogen deficiency. Have you fed your roses this spring? I use Toprose for the first first in March then an organic rose fertiliser after the first flowering and if they look hungry I water them with liquid fertiliser or tomato fertiliser. Some soils, like limestone, make it hard for roses to absorb iron so you could try your sequestered iron as well.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • I always feed them with toprose in march and once again after first flowering. I’ve read on here that  leaves with darker veins is a sign of low iron. Also says that if the ph balance is off then they won’t absorb the nutrients.  I think my soil is around 6.5 but changes the deeper I insert the meter into soil. I’m not confident with the way I’m taking the reading. Do you think the rain water could be affecting my area? I’ve noticed my neighbors plants looking a bit veiny too. I will try the iron since I’m sure it can’t do any harm. Or can it? 😁
