Laburnum seedlings

Odd question, but does anyone know how long laburnum seeds stay viable in the soil?
We removed the laburnum trees from our garden 3 years ago, yet I am still weeding out seedlings. (And yes they are Laburnum, I have been removing them from various gardens for a very long time.).

A long time by the sound of it.
A laburnum appeared in my garden yrs ago.
After a few yrs I took it out as it was very much in the wrong place.
That must have been about 12 yrs ago - I still get Laburnum seedlings appearing in that place.
    So at least 12 years

Our neighbours laburnum died years ago and I still find some seedlings pop up. I descovered a couple the other day and it puzzles me a little as to why they hadn't sprouted when the others did.
