Another "please ID"

SueAtooSueAtoo Posts: 380
Can anyone please ID this. I would say it's a climber though not a twiner. Stiff, thickish, straight stems, main stem is about 3' now. leaves are thick, leathery about half inch long with paler central rib. Like so many things in this garden it has started growing very close to the base of another shrub.
Thank you

Looks like a Euonymus, E. japonicus maybe.

Thanks, I did look at that but it's leaves look further apart as if it's wanting to climb. Maybe if I prune it?

Thanks @nutcutlet but I don't think it is as it is several stems definitely running across the bed at ground level, nothing like a shrub.
