    @marlencarvalho236NyPDeMiq No she didn't.  This was about 30 years ago. She was recommended by a local independent garden centre.

    The architects we work with range from £65/ph upwards.

    I wouldn't expect a domestic consultation to be free as there's a premium on the architects time, knowledge and ideas. 

    I've experienced it first hand where charlatans engage you on the premise of a design and build contract only to take your verbally articulated ideas and do it themselves. From an estimating perspective i'm used to missing out on landscaping contracts and thats fine, but nothing quite smarts like somebody exploiting your intellectual property for their own gain.

    @KT53. Thank you. The garden must be well established by now. :)

    It's actually all been ripped out again.  Many of the major plants were pretty established when we moved in and about 10 years ago were well beyond their best, so we started again.  We did retain some items, but not many.  A new garden is nice to create too.
