Plant or weed ID?

Spotted this growing in my new garden today.

Not noticed it before but it looks very robust and I'm trying to ID it

It has thick stems

Thanks

Ash tree saplings … get rid of them unless you have several acres  … they’ll be huge!

    Could it be an ash?
  • Ohh thanks @Dovefromabove and @bertrand-mabel!

I have never seen it before and was completely baffled, especially how robust it is.

I will get rid of it, we definitely don't have space for a few ash trees

Don’t delay! Whilst they are small you can easily pull them up, buts it’s surprising how quickly that becomes impossible and you find yourself having to dig them out. As you’ve obviously got an ash near you, keep an eye open for them every year. It’s amazing how a few seedlings manage to hide amongst and behind other plants and get their roots down before you notice them.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.
