New trees and where to relocate
Hello, I have a new horse chestnut and a new ash tree both growing in my garden - self propagation or squirrels!? I have space to replant but not sure how to go about this without ruining the roots or the trees. They’re both currently in a place near a fence or too close to the house to remain where they are. Both are about a metre in height already.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

It depends how you feel about them.
They'll be easy enough to get out, but if you don't want them, do it sooner rather than later.
Ash trees are a problem in many areas because of die back. We don't have it round here, but there are huge numbers of ash. They're ugly when small, but quite magnificent as mature specimens.
Horse chestnuts are great trees, but they do get huge, and cast a lot of shade, but they can also be pruned. We have loads of them in nearby roadside hedges, which are kept to a fairly small size [about 6 feet] due to being trimmed back every year.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
