Another interesting seedling to ID. Growing between paving stones.

    Funny how the most interesting seedlings are found between paving slabs. I suppose the slabs keep them warm and damp🤔
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    I did have some heuchera seedlings and those have been potted up and growing nicely. This doesn’t look like a heuchera to me. It looks a bit tree-ish. 

    @B3 that’s true. It’s a very fiddly job to rescue them.

    It changed colour a bit. I wonder if this could be a crab apple seedling. 🤔

  • In a previous garden I planted a Malus “Scarlett” which produced seedlings which looked exactly like yours @pitter-patter.

    I think that must be it then, @NutcrackerSouthSomerset. I do have a dark leaf crab apple in the garden. Thank you.
