Fully patioed garden needs help!

Several years ago we had all our grass removed and the garden patioed end to end .
Unfortunately the patios have not aged well and the garden looks like a concrete jungle now (it has breeze block walls around it !)
There is a wooden shed and a wood store and a couple of plants in pots.

What could we do to add some colour and life back to the area ?
I'm not willing to get the patio slabs removed right now. Just want to break up the concrete jungle with a bit of colour and life.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Yes - photos and a bit  more info needed  @Thuban-the-blue  :)
There's a current thread about gardens made largely with containers. I'll see if I can find it and you can take a look at what can be achieved.
I think G's W [the programme] has been doing a feature in the same vein, with Nick Bailey, so that could be worth a look. You should be able to get recent programmes on iPlayer if you can't do a catch up on TV.  :)

    Here's that thread:

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
