Choisya White Dazzler

What an amazing plant it is! Robust, good in pots, evergreen and most importantly, has beautiful flowers that smell like orange blossom.

Last winter was tough on all plants, but this one stayed outside all the time, kept all its leaves and even the coldest nights didn’t do it any damage (a few nights we had the temperatures of -8 C).

It likes a sunny spot and seems to respond well to regular watering and feeding, doesn’t need any trimming.

It's a brilliant cultivar, mine flowers at least twice a year. Absolutely brilliant and offers such a lovely texture too.

Oh good, I bought one today.  :)

Indeed, and also I have never noticed any pest on it, which is also a bonus

Same here, no pests, and not much care needed. And the scent is amazing!

My ‘White Dazzler’ got a few brown tips after the winter but I just snipped them off in mid-April

I also have a row of four ‘Scented Gem’ choisyas in a similar spot — they look much the same as ‘White Dazzler’ but about a foot taller, and they didn’t get frost damage at all

It's much tougher, weather wise, than the others too. They often get a fair bit of damage here in a normal winter, and although most of them recover reasonably well, they can need a fair bit of cutting back.
I've noticed that one seems to get far less frost/ice damage, which is what the others often get - even the plain green C. ternatas. It's less common though, for some reason.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have one of these, planted it in the front lawn a couple of years ago. Bit disappointed that it seems to be a rather slow grower, but just coming into flower now. It was relatively expensive though, so maybe why seen less often?

I like that it’s slow growing - it is happy in a large pot and doesn’t need any trimming. Which makes it an ideal patio plant.
