How truly hardy are olive trees?

    My Surrey location is no help to the OP, but for other readers ...

    My Morrisons 10 year old lollipop olive is hardier than my baytrees and agapanthuses.  Close to the house, a fleece thrown over the top;  just a touch of singeing.  I am stiil working out how to prune to keep its shape as it wants to grow straight up.
