    Thanks for advice. I checked the pot before bed and nothing. Checked in the morning and another leaf has been munched! I have emptied out half the soil this morning and tried sifting through it and couldn’t find it. It must crawl up and then crawl back out.

    @WAMS - no I don’t anymore as mine are a couple of feet tall now.

    @rossdriscoll13 - thanks I will try this!
  •  I would recommend this garlic wash, its brilliant also keeps other nasties at bay.

    Ingredients
    2 garlic bulbs
    2 pints water

    Crush 2 garlic bulbs ,steam or boil in two pints of water for 3-4 minutes until blanched, strain mixture and make back up to 2 pints, leave to cool.
    When ready to use mix one tablespoon in five litres of water and spray onto the leaves in late afternoon (in dry weather). Reaply every two weeks, the mixture dries on the leaves makes by them unappealing to slugs and snail.

    Have obtained and used some Strulch. Every night this week so far something has been been munched off. Nothing munched over night after applying Strulch yesterday so could be a winner! If not will try the method outlined by @Rainjustlearning - thanks.

    Then you'll just have to work later on at deterring the earwigs.... ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
